Show how confident you really are—no filter necessary. Whether you’re about to or have just undergone a treatment or procedure, to become your most confident self, let your photos highlight it. With the right tools, you can perfectly capture your before and after photos to see your progress and inspire others on their journey. Here are our tips for the perfect #RealSelfie.
Take photos in natural light. Natural light offers good exposure and generally shows your true skin tone. Keep a note of any shadows and position yourself so that you get even coverage of light across your face or body.
Keep it consistent. Not wearing makeup in your before picture? Skip it for your after picture. Consistency will help you see your progress much more easily, so keep the following aspects consistent across your photos: lighting, posture, body position, facial expression, type of clothing, surroundings, and makeup.
Pose in front of a neutral background. A less distracting background helps keep the emphasis on you, while those that are busy can take focus away from any changes in your body or face.
Be careful with the flash. Using a flash is OK, if you keep it consistent and face in one direction. Don’t use flash if you’re taking a mirror pic.
Get focused. Blurry photos don’t do you or the record of your progress any justice! Show off how much you’ve healed or what’s changed since your procedure and treatment—but make sure your images are sharp.
Use the tools of the trade. An aid, such as a selfie stick, a camera/phone stand or a friend or family member can help ensure that you take your best progress pics.
