One question we often hear from community members is “What is the difference between Doctor Q&A and Community Q&A?”
Here are some general questions to keep in mind when submitting content to make sure it gets to the right spot.
- Is the question intended for providers or community members? If you’re hoping that other community members will see your post and add a comment, it’s probably intended to be submitted as a Community Q&A. If you’re wishing for a doctor to provide a response, you’ll want to submit it to the Doctor Q&A.
- Are you asking for medical advice or looking for input from others with similar experiences? Only board-certified doctors are able to answer medical-related questions on RealSelf so if you’re looking for their advice, you’ll want to post to the Doctor Q&A. Are you seeking input from other community members who may have gone through a similar experience as you? Your question is better intended for Community Q&A.
- Are you looking for doctor recommendations? Since doctors cannot solicit business in the Doctor Q&A, it’s best if you can post your question to Community Q&A for other community members to make suggestions.
